"Giving Back to the Community" the Romney Way

Romney's tax rate is more like 40 or 50% or something, he said today. Good grief, what took him so long to get that out?

And Romney says paying his taxes is "giving back to the community."

Let's face it: only silly conservatives would deny such a progressive truth, and he ain't one.

In less taxing news, you can put your tissues away for Warren Buffett's secretary. Debbie Bosanek is actually a one-percenter, grossing a boat-load of at least $200,000.00. Say, Debbie, have you room in your boat for me?

In Nancy-the-Nanny news, she, uh, really doesn't know anything about Gingrich that isn't already public record. Sigh. The titillation was sure fun while it lasted.

Finally, in case you missed last night's riveting State of the Union address, here are the salient points:

Or, you can skip the video and read my executive summary: "Been there, haven't done it yet, give me four more."

PEOPLE WITH MONEY ARE GENERALLY RELUCTANT TO DEFEND THEIR WEALTH. ROMNEY PAID 35% ON HIS EARNED INCOME AND PAYS 15% ON HIS UNEARNED INCOME IN THE FORM OF CAPITAL GAINS TAXES. ECON. 101. HE SHOULD BE PROUD THAT HE HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK. OPRAH IS AND SO IS SNOOP DOGGY DOG AND EVERY MAJOR LEAGUE SPORTS PERSON WHOS MADE IT BIG. WE ARE ALL TRYING TO GET TO BE A HAVE EXCEPT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY WHO BELIVES IN EGALATARANISM OR ECONOMIC FAIRNESS. EVERYBODY SHOULD HAVE THE SAME HOUSE, TV, CAR, ADINFANITEM.

Simply, NOvember to NObama in '12. Granted, the Republican choices aren't stellar; but a door knob is less destructive (and more functional) than Nobama.

and why is the magic number always 250,000.00 a year and up. Clinton did it at $250,000.00 also in the 90's and why does the social security crowd always get cost of living raises and not the so call north of 250 crowd. What is the value of 250 compared with the ninties and why not raise the 250 to the inflated value today?

John, I followed your first point (but it's egal-IT, bro. Egal-IT). Effective tax rate is sky high (but why couldn't he explain that in the first place?)

But as for your 2nd comment, uh, not so much. But it's late and the FL primary is hurting my brain (esp. Rubio saying no way, now how, to VP).

Skunk, oh my friend, the choices are SO abysmal. I'll be voting NO for BO and his coincidentally named dog Bo but . . . damn, I'm not at all hopeful we'll have presto-chango.
