So David Westin is resigning as President of ABC News.
This is the same David Westin who, while holding that position, said he had no opinion whether it was wrong (or right!) for terrorists to bomb the Pentagon.
Watch this 59-second clip:
"I can say the Pentagon got hit. . . . But for me to take a position this was right or wrong . . . that's for me in my private life . . . As a journalist, I feel strongly, that's something that I should not be taking a position on. I’m supposed to figure out what is and what is not, not what ought to be."
But it's okay when ABC does this:
Well, I'll take a position: I think it best that Westin not have a position.
