
Ah, yes, that annual September parental rite of passage: tonight was meet the teacher night.
When explaining Biography Day, the teacher told us the children should pick a person who "contributed to society in a positive way" and come dressed to school in character.
"Now, in years past," she said, her voice trailing off, "some students have come as Tiger Woods . . . "
