Believe you me, I'm sick of the rains in Spain, too. And I hold no interest in beating horses, dead or otherwise. But before you click through, please consider:
Did Mrs. Obama meet with Jesse Jackson, Jr., U.K.'s Prime Minister David Cameron, and royalty from Saudi Arabia during her Spain vacay? All are, after all, summering in Marbella, which makes for an awfully convenient, posh gathering place.
Could this be why a savvy White House staff didn't flag the trip? Considering the predictable and ferocious media maelstrom that followed, it sure looks like someone was asleep at the switch while the First Lady's PR machine careened into the ditch.
While I don't know whether this report by El Mundo -- the second largest newspaper in Spain -- is true, the translation is certainly amusing.
But if the story is true, the translation would be far from amusing, at least to us working folks here in the States.
So why was this debacle allowed to happen?

Ah-ha! I knew something had to be going on to take only one child and not the other on a "vacation" and to have to go on vacation during Hubs' birthday.
These people are not stupid.
I just wish they would quit pretending we were.
Many moons ago my husband and I stayed in Marbella on a sales rewards trip. The lovely "Spanish Riviera" beach patrolled by guards carrying machine guns.
It was very posh, and there were the customary topless sunbathers (no matter how old and saggy the boobage) and old fat guys in their speedos.
Michelle certainly is developing some "champagne taste" on America's (really cheap) beer budget.
